Join fellow members of the Lettie Pate Evans Society for our Inaugural Celebration, September 25-26, 2025.  Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with each other, Washington and Lee University students and a variety of campus leaders through a combination of informational, fun and hands-on programming.

Who: This event is open to all members of the Lettie Pate Evans Society.

Cost: Free to attend. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging.

Attire: Smart casual, unless otherwise noted.

5:30 p.m. | Shuttle to Leading Lives of Consequence campaign event in Crozet. | Evans Hall

6:30 p.m. | Leading Lives of Consequence campaign event at King Family Vineyards in Crozet. Please RSVP here.

8:30 p.m. | Shuttle departs King Family Vineyards in Crozet to Lexington. The shuttle will drop off at Evans Hall.

9 – 11:30 a.m. | Check-in | Evans Hall

10 a.m. | Tours of new Williams School building and the Lindley Center for Student Wellness (optional)

11:30 a.m. | Lunch and Opening Address by Provost Lena Hill | Evans Hall

1:30 p.m. | Getting to Know Each Other, Speed networking with Brodie Gregory Riordan ‘03

2:30 p.m. | Many Hands Make Small Work | Work alongside W&L students, and lend your skills to one of several on-campus programs giving back to the greater community. Projects include the Campus Kitchen, the W&L Clothes Closet and the Campus Garden.

If you have women’s business attire (suits, jackets, blouses, pumps, etc.) and/or formal attire that you would like to donate to our campus clothing closet in advance of the event, please mail to: Zach Funkhouser, Washington and Lee University, Office of Inclusion and Engagement, 204 W. Washington Street, Lexington, VA 24450. You may also bring items to donate at the time of the event.

4:30 – 6 p.m. | Casting and Cocktails on the Colonnade | Always wanted to try your hand at fly fishing? Now’s your chance to learn from the best with W&L’s Outing Club while sipping refreshing cocktails on the front lawn.

7:30 – 11 p.m. | “Unfancy” Dress | Dinner and dancing in Evans Hall | Wear your favorite casual dress and bring a “fancy dress” to donate to our campus clothing closet. Enjoy dinner in the beautiful hall named after our society’s namesake, mingle with friends and stay for late night dessert and dancing.

8 a.m. | Breakfast on you own. 

9 a.m. | Campus Showcase | Northen Auditorium | Join W&L administrators for updates on programs and services that set W&L apart, including athletics, career and professional development, student counseling and the law school.

Noon | Lunch with Student Leaders | Law School Village Pavilion | Join us for lunch with W&L student leaders and administrators, and hear our student panel share their perspectives on campus leadership opportunities.

2- 4 p.m. | Closing Address | Featuring remarks from Sally Stone Richmond, vice president for admissions and financial aid and Susan Wood, vice president for university advancement.

6 – 8:30 p.m. | Bluegrass and Barbeque at Thorn Hill Inn, Home of Bennett ’83 and Alyson Ross P’18 | Pull out your cowboy boots and blue jeans, and get ready to enjoy one of the most spectacular views in Rockbridge County. Dinner catered by Southern Inn.
